Production Technician

This is an opportunity to be a vital member of an established and rapidly growing manufacturer of fine-design products. You would be part of our production operations in our Mississauga facility.

Responsibility:

Concrete Casting

On a daily basis, review the pouring schedule and confer with the team to determine which moulds need to be prepared and which pour will be completed that day.

  • Ensure that moulds are clean and available for use when needed.
  • Cast to PMFI Standards and according to the Pouring Schedule. This will include the following:
  • Pre-inspect forms and moulds to ensure that they are sound and up to pouring standards
  • Prepare displacement plugs for specified products – ie. Taped foam or rubber plugs
  • Mix concrete to specific mix designs and to the required consistency
  • Place, vibrate and finish concrete as per the procedure
  • Seal backs of freshly poured products, move and stack daily poured products for setting time
  • Thoroughly clean mixing and casting tools, equipment and area
  • Complete the daily Pouring Record form

Clearly label products and record Order progress, including:

  • Labelling of pallets
  • Completing Daily Schedule and Work Order forms.
  • Monitor Casting materials and record needs on the Materials Request Board when material supplies fall below-established minimums.

On a daily basis, refer to Casting Schedule for items to be demoulded.

  • Demold cast products after the designated setting time
  • Inspect product for quality. Record any problems and report verbally to the Production Manager and take action accordingly
  • Label, palletize and store product for curing per procedure.
  • Label all pallets with Order information
  • Complete the daily Demould Record form
  • Clean and store moulds as per the correct procedure
  • Complete the QC form for each demoulded casting

Concrete Finishing

To take the raw, cast concrete products and work on them by hand to transform them into beautiful objects. This involves:

  • Hand-buffing and applying sealer
  • Mixing coloured filler slurries and filling small holes in the concrete surface
  • Assembly of the concrete products—gluing parts together and using caulking to fill joints • Grinding and smoothing out rough areas

Crate Building

  • Cut lumber to specifications
  • Use lumber to build crates to specifications.

Order Fulfilment

  • Gathering items from inventory for shipment
  • Packaging to ensure damage-free shipment

Metal product finishing

  • Hand-buffing and applying colourant • Sanding

Glass Screen Building

  • Assembling glass screens under supervision adhering to standards set out

Our starting wage is $17.50 per hour In addition, you get the following:

  • Paid time off during the holidays – approximately the last two weeks of the year(the exact dates change marginally from year to year)
